M. Salerno & Associates, Inc. maintains a team of professional Registered Nurses located throughout the state of Tennessee. Our team consists of experienced Case Managers, Utilization Review specialists, Certified Life Care Planning experts, and Certified Legal Nurse Consultants. In addition, each nurse is a highly skilled clinician who brings to us their own unique area of expertise. Our consultants proudly maintain excellent working relationships with medical providers and vendors state-wide.

Sue Millhouse, RN, CCM
Certified Case Manager

Sue is a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Amsterdam, N.Y. She is a Certified Case Manager who prides herself in being specially requested on most of her referrals. Located in Knoxville, TN, Sue has an outstanding reputation in the medical community as being a fair, but no-nonsense Case Manager. She has a varied clinical background in both acute care hospital settings with an emphasis on neurosurgery, orthopedics and medical-surgical nursing, as well as home health.

Kari Williamson, RN, BS, LNC

Legal Nurse Consultant

Kari is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a degree in Registered Nursing. With nearly 20 years experience in both the medical and insurance industries, combined with her working knowledge of the Medical-Legal field, Kari thoroughly examines all medical records to obtain crucial information by which a carrier can make informed decisions about the claim. Because of her strong clinical background in ICU/Trauma, along with her methodical and organizational skills, she is well respected by our accounts for providing comprehensive information which brings their claims to successful resolution. Kari is often specially-requested to handle the more difficult Catastrophic claims.

Deana Hall, RN, CCM
Medical Case Manager

Deana is a graduate of the Kentucky Baptist School of Nursing and a Certified Case Manager. She is conveniently located in Jeffersonville, IN, just a short drive from Louisville, KY. Deana has proven experience as a Catastrophic Case Manager and is oftentimes personally requested by our accounts to work their files. She has over 20 years experience in the insurance and workers’ compensation industry.

Joyce Salyers, RN, BSN
Medical Case Manager

Joyce is a graduate of Andrew’s University in Berrian Springs, MI with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Joyce is strategically located in the Chattanooga, TN area. Because of Joyce’s extensive clinical background in an emergency room setting and trauma nursing, she excels in the handling and management of Catastrophic Claims. Joyce is also highly utilized as a resource due to the fact that she is bilingual and able to communicate with Spanish speaking clients.

Anne Childers, RN-C, MSN, CCM
Certified Case Manager

Anne holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Birmingham-Southern College and two Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with Majors in Adult Health Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing-Primary Care. Anne has 20 years of clinical experience and a background in Occupational Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Toni Cameron, RN
Medical Case Manager

Toni is a graduate of Broward County Community College where she received her degree in nursing. She is very experienced in clinical areas and has extensive experience working as Telephonic Case Manager. Toni is very assertive and has good working relationships with the North Carolina providers. Toni is a CRP in the state for the NC Industrial Commission.

Steve Zimmerman, MS, RN, ATC, CSCS
Medical Case Manager

Steve is a graduate of Saint Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Utica, NY. Steve received his Bachelor of Science at State University of NY at Brockport and his Masters of Science from Indiana State University. Steve has extensive background in Orthopedics and with that, combined with his background and education as a Certified Athletic Trainer, brings to us extensive working knowledge of the rehabilitation process. Steve’s major area of focus is the challenging area of Chronic Pain Management and he serves as a resource to our accounts in this area.

Mary Salerno, RN, BS, CCM, CDMS, CLNC, CLCP

With over 25 years experience as a Registered Nurse, Mary specializes in the management of catastrophic cases with emphasis on brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, burns and amputations.

Mary completed her Nursing degree in New York State in 1980 and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Montana. She has completed post-graduate studies in Legal Nurse Consulting and Life Care Planning. She has extensive clinical experience in critical care, trauma, orthopedics/neurosurgery, rehab, high risk labor & delivery, neonatal ICU and general medical-surgical units. Mary has given lectures on subjects associated with Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, and Case Management.

Mary is a Certified Case Manager, Certified Disability Management Specialist, Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, and Certified Life Care Planner. She is an active member of several professional organizations and maintains ongoing continuing education in her fields of expertise.
